DESCRIPTION
The LISTING page for all transactions are now defaulted to show THIS MONTH, instead of ALL dates, as in the past. As we seek to improve our users’ experiences on an ongoing basis, we fine tune the system to reflect what is best for the system.
WHY IS THIS SO?
1. When the system opens up this listing, it is basically to show which were the previous transactions created, and to do so in the fastest possible time.
2. In the past, when showing all, the system has to seek out all records. As our users’ record size grow over time, some has tens of thousands of records per year and that will cause laggings when listing this page.
- Over 90% of users open the listing, and immediately clicks ADD for a new transaction. Some will glance at this listing and then proceed to ADD.
- Some users with large databases have to wait up to 10 seconds for this page to start the ADD function. This wait is unnecessary for the 90% of users we mentioned.
- For those who simply need to view, only recent transactions matter, as what happened months ago, are usually not relevant to their current entry.
3. For those who really need to search, and the system limiting to THIS MONTH, the user may still click for THIS YEAR or CUSTOM DATE RANGE, if their desired record is not showing in the list.
