PASSWORDS & ACCESS CONTROLS

1. HOW TO RESET MY LOST PASSWORD?

Users losing/forgetting password is a very common incident. A2000ERP now handles this at the system level where administrators do not need to reset these for internal staff.

The system will send a reset link to the respective users to re-configure their personal password.

2. CAN ADMIN USER RESET PASSWORD FOR OTHER USERS?

Yes, this is possible for ADMIN to assign a password for their team members. The ADMIN must perform 2 settings to ensure the user cannot reset on their own:-

Access to the User Maintenance must be disabled for the user, and
The default value in User MaintenanceàAble to Reset Own Password(enable) must be changed to Disabled.

THIS IS NOT RECOMMENDED - where ADMIN assigns password is NOT RECOMMENDED, for audit and security reasons. Every transaction in the system is attached to a user who created it. If the access passwordsis given by someone else (other than the user himself), it will open up disputes who had entered what. As such, it compromises the audit log which attaches accountability to users creating the transactions.

If any staff forgot their password, they should go to the login screen and type FORGOT PASSWORD. The system will send them a link to reset their own password.

3. CHANGE PASSWORD FOR STAFF WHO LEFT THE COMPANY

You DO NOT need to change the password for any staff that leaves the company. Simply go to ADMIN CONTROL PANEL, and de-activate the respective user(s). They will no longer be able to access the system. Nor can an inactive user be able to request for password reset.
