USERS ARE DE-ACTIVATED

ISSUE      Why are some of my users de-activated by the system?

1.  USERS CAN GET DEACTIVATED

To secure the user against fraudulent logins, the system will automatically de-activate the user if there are more than 5 failed attempts to login to the system.

The system will warn the user of the possibility of a lock-out. If the user should forget the password, the correct thing to do, after the third attempt is to Reset Password.

HOW TO RESET PASSWORD?

At the login screen, simply click on the Forget Password link and the system will send a reset link to your login email address.

2. CAN ADMIN RESET DE-ACTIVATED USERS?

Yes, the ADMIN User with access right to the User Maintenance screen will be able to reset the status of de-activated user(s). See screen shot as follow, to Check De-activated Users:

3. IS DEACTIVATED USER THE SAME AS INACTIVE USER?

NO, these are 2 different statuses.

A DEACTIVATED USER means that this user is no longer allowed to login into A2000ERP. This is triggered at the ADMIN PANEL level, which could be due to security reason (user is shut out by system for excessive login attempts), or where the Administrator decided there is no longer a need for this user to access A2000ERP anymore.

Whereas for an INACTIVE USER (seen in User Maintenance), it means that this user should no longer access this particular account book, regardless whether they are activated users or not. This is triggered by the account book administrator. An Inactive User can be an Activated User, but they could be inactive in this particular account book

4. MY USER DID NOT EXPERIENCE ANY FAILED ATTEMPTS. HOW WAS IT LOCKED?

It could be possible someone else was trying to access the system through your user’s ID. If they had more than 5 attempts, the account will be de-activated.

Since we do not know if this was some malicious attempt to hack into your system, the system will de-activate that user, and leave it to the ADMIN user to re-activate where necessary.
